Personal Mission Statement:
Bio:
Rev. Mary Kay has served as the Senior Minister and Spiritual Director at the Centre for Spiritual Living since September 2006. In the past two years, Rev. Mary Kay has worked with a consultant, the CORE Council and Practitioners to create a Transformational Plan which includes a new Vision, Mission, Values, Principles to Live By and Strategic Plan for CSL. Through Visioning, prayer and dialogue, CSL has birthed a new organizational structure which we are in the process of co-creating with our Practitioners and Lay Leaders. Rev. Mary Kay has brought her vision and her ability to see the big picture and set forth a plan to bring it into form. Her leading edge thinking has set the stage for the movement from a ‘family church” consciousness and culture to a “program church” consciousness. Rev. Mary Kay and the CSL leadership have a strong commitment to creating conscious, healthy community.
Prior to her selection as Senior Minister of CSL Vancouver in 2006, Rev. Mary Kay served as a staff minister at the headquarters of United Centers for Spiritual Living in Burbank, CA. She oversaw various programs under the International Youth & Family Ministries umbrella including curriculum, resources, Asilomar youth program, and regional trainings for UCSL covenanted members. She supported UCSL churches in Visioning, volunteer recruitment and training, growing vital youth & family ministries, leadership development and conflict mediation. Rev. Mary Kay also served as the Chair of the Global Core, coordinating all support for UCSL centers around the world.
Before her service at UCSL headquarters, Rev. Mary Kay served as a staff minister at Midtown Church in San Diego, CA, speaking and teaching regularly, assisting with Sunday Celebration Services, special services and ceremonies, scheduling the educational calendar and practitioners support within the church, and as Youth & Family and Community Outreach minister.
A professional public speaker, Rev. Mary Kay owned and operated a training business in the Washington, DC area from 1988 to 2000, frequently providing the keynote address at international conferences, as well as facilitating public workshops on business and personal development, and was featured on business radio talk shows and National Empowerment Television broadcasts in Washington, DC.
When the opportunities arise, Rev. Mary Kay loves to "play" with children to build self-esteem through the awareness of their own spiritual connection, and support families of all kinds to build the spiritual foundation for creating healthy family. Rev. Mary Kay is committed to guiding youth toward spiritual maturity and empowering them to pursue their own personal ministry within the greater community and in the World.
