Chain Reaction

I was a child

Dreamed of who I'd be

It was a vision of my destiny

But with time it failed

Self-doubt prevailed

I went to school

And learned a trade

I chose my life's work

Based on what it paid

I climbed the ladder

But nothin' mattered

I heard a voice inside me sayin'

"Live up to your dream"

That voice grew louder

Until it was a scream

"If you don't heed this warning

Fearing all that you might lose

The life that you were born for 

Will not be there to choose"

So I took a chance

Stumbled in the dark

I climbed a trail

That wasn't marked

Oh, I got lost

But I found my heart

As I climbed that path

I began to sow

The seeds of purpose

That passion grows

That dream inside me

Was for reviving my soul

That voice inside kept sayin'

"Live up to your dreams"

It took me half a lifetime \

To remember what that means

When we fold our aspirations

Like a poker hand that's bad

We never get to see the life 

We know we should've had

When you leave behind

All your doubts and fear

Your life's purpose suddenly appears

When you chase your passion

There's a chain reaction

Your dreams become real

They become real
